St Seraphim Orthodox Youth Camp and Coronavirus (COVID-19) threat
17th March 2020
St Seraphim Camp is committed to the welfare and safety of our staff, leaders and participants, and have been monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation closely.
With God’s help we hope that Kamp 2020—still over five months away--will be going ahead as planned between 27th July and 7th August. The camp site and coach have been booked and preparations for our usual programme, including recruiting leaders are moving apace.
Events change rapidly and we are staying informed on coronavirus-related advice offered by the World Health Organisation, Public Health England as well as guidance by the Orthodox Church hierarchy. There may well be some restrictions on campers and staff who travel to Kamp from overseas and special provision for anyone showing symptoms of coronavirus. We have always paid a very close attention to all aspects of hygiene in St Seraphim Camp, and have had compulsory hand-washing and sanitiser application before every meal for over ten years.
Please be reassured that any fee you have paid for your child’s attendance in Kamp 2020 will be refunded in full in the event of any cancellation. Applications are continuing to come in and as of 17th March St Seraphim Camp stands at half capacity.
Deadline for home applications remains 26th April
